One way the Kaplan University Writing Center is  helping students understand Academic Integrity is by designating May as Plagiarism Awareness month.  The Writing Across the Curriculum emphasis at Kaplan University aims to support students and faculty in the learning and teaching of research writing skills.

As part of a larger international conversation of plagiarism and academic integrity,  The International Center for Academic Integrity and TurnItIn hosted  a Plagiarism Week  April 22-16, 2013. There were quality presentations  with useful research and best practices for institutions and classrooms. You  may watch recordings of these sessions.

Current sources seem to point to a whole campus approach to dealing with the Academic Integrity issues.

What techniques or process do you use to help students understand plagiarism and research writing?
