While completing a college degree online allows for greater freedom and flexibility with class and study times, it can often feel lonely and isolating. Giving up time with family and friends to shut oneself away in a quiet spot to study or discovering new concepts in the course reading materials without anyone to share the excitement with can zap student motivation and productivity quickly.
The Learning for Success Center at Purdue Global is combating isolated and lonely learning with weekly study sessions held right on the same tutoring platform students already use to connect with our tutors. Using 2-hour blocks on Sunday night, students have the opportunity to register in advance, further increasing their sense of accountability. Sessions allow students to engage as much or as little as they’d like in the chat box, and it gives them the freedom to step out of the session to meet with a tutor whenever they have a question that needs further support. The student can return after their one-on-one session to continue in the group study space without ever leaving the tutoring platform.
Are you missing the camaraderie of your classmates? Do you need motivation to be still and focus on coursework for a sustained period of time?
Join us, and let’s get productive!
Please register here for our next live study session on Sunday, January 21, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (Eastern Time).
Until next time, this is Dr. Linscott with another Learning for Success podcast. Happy learning!
